Lumineers in Aberdeen

Jonathan Min DDS, Lumineer® Experts

Are you looking for Lumineers® in Aberdeen, NJ or even curious about the differences between veneers and Lumineers®? You’re not alone, as this tends to be the most frequently asked question when it comes to cosmetic dentistry and smile enhancement. Lumineers are digitally designed with the use of computer technology to be extremely thin, so that they can be applied seamlessly over your existing tooth. The procedure is generally much less invasive than the process of fitting a porcelain veneer. Both traditional (porcelain) veneers and lumineers are made from porcelain, an extremely strong and long lasting material.

Lumineers

Difference in Traditional Veneer Vs. Lumineer® Procedure

Traditional veneers generally tend to be a bit thicker by design, and require more removal of outer enamel or tooth structure in order to be properly fitted and aligned. The porcelain veneer procedure typically spans the course of a couple weeks and a few visits into the office. Temporaries are applied to the teeth in between visits while the porcelain veneer is being constructed. Lumineers generally eliminate the need for temporaries as well as numbing shots during the enamel shaping process. Patients usually view the Lumineer procedure as less invasive than the traditional veneer procedure. The end product is a gorgeous bright smile with much less hassle.

1st Visit of the Procedure

After the initial consultation with Aberdeen cosmetic dentist Dr. Jonathan Min, we will take impressions of both your upper and lower teeth. We then send this mold to an authorized Lumineers lab along with your records and photos. Unlike traditional veneers, there is no need for drilling or tooth reduction and no temporaries to fit.

2nd Visit of the Procedure

On your second visit into the office (generally a couple weeks later) we will place your Lumineers. Your teeth are minimally etched to prepare the surface for bonding of the veneer. We then make sure the veneers fit firmly and assess your smile and bite to ensure no chipping occurs once bonded into place. And now you get to enjoy your new smile!
